arrhythmias basic cardiac

..all my troubles seem so..

..er..

No, thatapos;s not what I wanted to write about. Actually, yesterday was quite.. Okay. Major extra hot to the point where I literally feel dehydrated (somewhere between 35 centigrade to 37, prolly, since 35 was in the shades). But we copped down just about everything that needed to be done.

License. Got to the Jl. Wijaya Precinct at about 10.30. We were greeted (as usual) by a plethora of plainclothes people offering "services" - whom I duly ignore. First was to make photocopies of ID and the expired license, then pay Rp. 26,000 for the photocopy and "insurance," which they actually gave me a sort of membership card for, but I really have no interest to verify that insurance :p - especially not by having accidents to verify that thing. Then "medical check-up" - which contains checking my eyesight (perfect, thank you contact lenses. Ahahaha) and blood pressure (110/70 - the usual..), paid 25,000 for it. And then bringing the medical "certification" to the registration counter, along with copies of ID and expired license. They stapled the license to the renewal form, and then I was to wait to be summoned to sign/have my finger printed/have photo taken. It was a mere 2 mins wait, really. Had I peed as Iapos;d had in mind, I prolly wouldapos;ve missed it. Heee.

There were two officers in the print/sign/photo room. One is a dude, the other is a major dyke. Lulz. I can tell right away when people underestimated/disliked me based on appearance. Fortunately, my forms were in the hand of the dude and he was quite polite and friendly. The dude actually end up taking quite a decent pic of me for the license. Yay. I now have a decent-looking officially-taken photograph of me on my license - instead of the craptacular pic I had before on it, or in my passport.

Mental note to self: make photocopies of it. Heck, *scan* the damn thing *lol* I actually really look perdy in it

After waiting another two minutes, I was again summoned to the counter to pick up my renewed license. It cost Rp. 110,000 + 1,000 for PMI (National Blood Bank). Whatever. Total license renewal cost: Rp. 171,000. Total time taken: Less than 15 minutes. Wow. If only passport renewal can be this quick. I truly commend the National Indonesian Police Force for revamping their crappy image. Or at least their effort to do so. Some things are actually working. Wow. Needless to say, I have no hesitation in saying my thank-yous to the officers. The dyke excluded. Lulz.

Afterward, we went to b. Api U. Lisaapos;s home - basically to meet her mom, Tt. Melly, whom I had not met during Eid. Sheapos;s one of the more cool "elderlies" I quite admire. Sheapos;d lost her husband when her third child was still in the womb, remarried some dozens of years later only to have the second husband died after a rather short time (of heart attack). And sheapos;d raised her three children alone. Yet all three of her children end up (very) well in life. Her firstborn is one of the VPs of Garuda Indonesia, daughter is u. Lisa - in spite of being a stay-at-home mom, she has psychology degree, and her youngest is one of the VPs in Telkomsel. Tt. Melly herself is still highly active -- in learning gamelan *lol* Itapos;s a rather amusing subject to learn, really, since sheapos;s such a Kotagedang-ers and hasnapos;t the slightest touch of Javanese in her. She canapos;t even speak javanese *lol* Sheapos;s a little over 70, if Iapos;m not mistaken, younger than umak, but slightly older than Ibu.

Anyway, she was lamenting of her first grandchild, Fandri, who is attending college in Bandung (ITBapos;s Aeronautics). She lamented of his homestay roomapos;s condition - which, I reckon, is somewhere around 180 degrees opposite of what heapos;s used to (at home). From her description, it wasnapos;t actually too bad. Just.. Not as highly comfortable as home. But still, for the grandma, it was a tad heartbreaking, I suppose. Especially after she fought so hard to get her family out of poverty, only to see her first grandson living - albeit temporarily - in a place so close to the ones sheapos;d avoided. Heh.

But Fandri is a good boy. Although a little messy (what boy isnapos;t?), heapos;s good. And smart. I reckon heapos;ll do well there.

Then we went to pick Andrea up, wherein we parked in front of Shisha Cafe (no parking spot left in her schoolapos;s lot). With around half-hour to go, I idly opened my laptop and instinctively switched on teH bluetooth. Lo and behold It picked Actually, it picked up several hotspots, and I gamely tried shishaapos;s - fully expecting it to ask me for passwords and whatnot. But it didnapos;t *lol* Much to my mirth, not only it wasnapos;t firewalled, it was actually REALLY fast Ohai shisha Expect yours truly to hang out there more often

Okay, fine. One of these days, when/if I feel like it, Iapos;ll check out their food and shisha. Really. Maybe when/if umak comes along so she can pick up the tab. Mwaha.

Yesterdayapos;s journey ends up with me passing out in the blissful coldness of my bedroom. Shit, I had the AC up to high (somewhere around 18 degrees) where, on normal days or at nights, Iapos;d be freezing. It barely changed the temperature yesterday. Oh, alright. It did. Whereas outside was at (somewhere between) 35-37 centigrades, the room was about 28-30. But it was still ridiculously hot.

Anything else?

Momapos;s bapos;day is today. I dunno what to give her. :-/
